Description
Every car-owning dog owner eventually faces the same calculation: the joy of taking your dog everywhere versus the state of your back seat afterwards. Hair embedded in upholstery. Muddy paw prints on leather. Scratch marks from excited claws. The Pawvelle Dog Car Seat Cover exists to make that calculation disappear entirely — so your dog comes on every trip, and your car stays in the condition you want it in.
The hammock design is the key feature. Unlike flat seat covers that dogs slide off or bunch up under, the hammock version connects to both the front and rear headrests, creating a suspended barrier that covers the entire back seat. Your dog cannot fall into the footwell. The surface stays taut and in place across the whole journey, whether your dog sits calmly or switches positions every three minutes.
- Full hammock design — covers seat base, backrest, and sides
- 600D waterproof Oxford polyester — repels water, mud, and pet hair
- Universal fit — four adjustable headrest anchors fit 95% of vehicles
- Stays taut in motion — does not bunch or slip under a moving dog
- Zip-down access panel — front-to-back access without removing the cover
- Non-slip backing — anchors to the seat surface as well as the headrests
- Machine washable — cold cycle, air dry, folds flat for storage
How To Use
- Open the cover — unfold the hammock fully and identify the front and rear headrest straps.
- Attach rear straps first — loop the rear straps around the rear headrest posts and clip them in place. Adjust the length so the cover base sits flat on the seat.
- Attach front straps — reach the front straps to the front seat headrests and clip them in place. These pull the hammock taut and create the suspended barrier.
- Adjust tension — pull all four straps to ensure the cover is taut across the seat with no sagging in the middle.
- Press non-slip backing — smooth the cover down onto the seat surface to engage the non-slip backing.
- Use the zip panel — unzip the centre panel when you need access from front to back without removing the whole cover.
Tip: For very large dogs who shift position frequently, add a light luggage strap across the hammock surface to prevent the cover pulling free from the rear headrests over long journeys.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my car?
The cover fits 95% of standard passenger vehicles with four-door configurations including SUVs and crossovers. For hatchbacks, check that your rear seats have standard adjustable headrests that the straps can loop around. Very compact hatchbacks with fixed headrests may not be compatible.
My dog is very large and strong. Will it stay in place?
The combination of four headrest anchors and the non-slip backing is sufficient for all but the most determined large dogs. For extra security on long journeys with very active dogs, thread the front straps through the headrest posts rather than just around them for a more secure connection.
Can I still use the rear seatbelts?
Most versions of the cover have seatbelt openings along the seat base. If your dog uses a seatbelt harness, thread it through these openings. For human passengers, the zip-down centre panel allows access to the seatbelt buckles on most standard vehicle seat configurations.
Is it actually waterproof?
Yes — the 600D Oxford polyester is fully waterproof on the outer face. A wet dog on the cover will not result in moisture reaching the seat upholstery underneath. The backing is water-resistant but we still recommend drying the cover flat rather than leaving it wet and folded.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash on a cold cycle with mild detergent. Tumble dry on low or air dry flat. Do not use fabric softener as it can reduce the waterproof coating effectiveness over time.
